touch with Hand, rub on Foot, insert into Mouth

This is my happy child at the ER showing off her hospital bracelet.

After a THREE hour wait, lots of screaming, two temperatures taken, a gazillion crabby nurses and one very nice doctor we had a diagnosis for Emily's gigantic full body rash- Hand Foot and Mouth Virus.  

FAN FREAKING TASTIC.

So we're all skipping church tomorrow to hopefully spare any other poor families this crap.

Em is doing well.  Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl.  Those are my  modern weapons.  And cuddles and naps and LOTS OF PATIENCE BECAUSE GEEZ THIS KID IS CRABBY.

And Xanax.

She had an excellent time with me and Nana and even played with a balloon! (when she wasn't trying to eat it)

The weather was perfect. Emily loved it.

She walks!!

Emily is walking nonstop. Rarely falling, but always pushing her limits. So prod of her. No more baby, we have a toddler!!

Big Girl

Today this kid took her first step.

Two days ago she learned to sign please.

The day before that I swear I heard her first word. I said "say cheese!" as I held up the phone/ camera and she said it. I was giddy.

Today we also took her first birthday photos but those will not debut until her bday on the 27th. :)
